How Effective is Your Failure? (Part 3)

Was the experiment reveailng?

So you went and did it 🤔

You probably had the exact same realisation I did. It’s the only reason I don’t take every set to failure any more. The difference between the last rep, and the one before IS HUGE.

The fatigue is just disproportionate, it make no sense.

Let me tell you the worst thing.

That last rep, doesn’t even give any additional stimulus. It’s just the same as the 4 before it. You’re getting that huge hit to your system, for what?

It took me a while to come up with a fix.

I had to find a way to cut this rep off.

If I wanted to get the best net stimulus. This was a huge amount of fatigue which had to be eliminated. This wasn’t as easy as just training at 1 RIR though.

How can you train at something you don’t have a perception of?

Do you think you’d progress faster without this fatigue?

You might already have an answer to those questions. If you don’t, keep thinking about it. I’ll let you know my findings tomorrow, and the plan I created to fix this.

In the meantime here’s another experiment, try and guess where 1 RIR is without looking at last time’s reps.

Keep an eye out, I’ll be here tomorrow, same time as always.

Your Hypertrophy Hero,
Fletcher

P.S. The next email is going to be the last about this topic, I’ll also be inviting you to purchase my plug and play framework for acclimation phases. Regardless of if you purchase this, you will have all the knowledge you need to run this phase, it just makes it easier.
