"it was revealed to me in a dream"
the genuine origins of chiropractory.

Did you know that chiropractors are complete scammers?
This one is quite personal to right as an old friends’ parent was a chiro…
Let’s not tell her about this one.
THEY AREN’T REAL DOCTORS, THEY MAKE STUFF UP, GHOSTS and more in this newsletter.
Buckle up buttercup
First, this is stupid and don’t do it. People have genuinely died from the neck adjustments you see them make.
This isn’t a case of “they weren’t trained properly”, etc. These are some of the field leaders.
Now I’ll talk about other things not just the stroke risk that is very present in paying these people to do stuff 😭
Chiropractory is an industry that has managed to monetise cracking people’s knuckles
Oh and yeah, cracking your knuckles and that sound existing is what chiropractory is…
1. Chiropractors cannot “realign” joints
You might have heard this.
If you’ve gone into a TikTok spiral you’ve definitely heard these claims.
Maybe a family friend had this happen? Go for a “consultant” in any clinic and they’ll say you need realignment work…
Look here’s the thing.
If realigning joints like this was possible it would be complete game over for anyone in the NFL.
The force they experience would be enough to kill an NFL person on impact, yeah they’re not doing that…
2. Chiropractors cannot move “fascia”
Some Chiropractors claim to be able to move your fascia.
This is connective tissue acting with your muscles/organs.
Let’s think about how someone would go about moving this fascia 🤔
Let’s look at how easy it is to move fascia
Moving fascia 1mm requires 2000lbs of force 😃
That’s real interesting.
Who’s ever even deadlifted that amount?
Yeah that’s unlikely.
You’re not moving fascia man.
3. The Inventor of Chiropractory
Let’s talk about the man with two white names.
Daniel, David, Palmer.

good ol’ double D’s
This man is very very cool, he was a village idiot.
No one trusted him.
He was a complete fool.
One day a ghost visited Daniel David Palmer in a dream and revealed to him that chiropractory was the cure to disease…

yes this is the genuine origin story…
After this was revealed to him in a dream he got to hard work.
You see double D’s was a GRINDER.
He tested his chiropractory on people
It completely worked!!!
He cured a man’s blindness by manipulating his spine 😱
Oh wait…
The man was never blind.
He was a complete scammer who faked this…
Why are we trusting this industry…
4. The Science is All that Matters
Okay, all that matters is if it works.
It doesn’t matter whether or not the origin story is good.
What’s actually happening?
Are there any benefits?
Are the claims accurate?
So what does the science tell us?
They’ve done a lot of research taking a look at chiropractory and it’s great!
Well great for this newsletter, nothing has proved this is good beyond it feeling good mentally…
There aren’t even any mechanisms that would support this being good…
Awesome 😄
5. What Actually is Chiropractory?
Here comes knuckles again…
Have you ever cracked your knuckles?
You apply pressure to your joint
You let the bubbles in your synovial fluid release
Nothing meaningful changes in the joint
When this happens you release a ton of endorphins.
These are those feel good hormones that you get from running.
Not only are they great at improving your mood, but they’re natural painkillers 😬
I wonder what’s happening when you get this whilst you visit the chiropractor…
Yeah it’s a little bit of this + placebo.
Pretty wild we let this industry persist even though it ends lives.
Not sure how stuff like this exists in the world and the simple stuff like resistance training gets left behind.
It really does hurt sometimes.
Your Hypertrophy Hero,
Fletcher
P.S. Same goes for massaging, it’s just something that feels good. Don’t get scammed. Don’t see a chiropractor. Talk to a physio if you’ve got issues, train hard in the gym if you don’t using my workout skeleton.
