I CAN'T HIT MY PROTEINNNN

FIVE HUNDRED GRAMS OF UR ANIUM

Fletcher Poole Banner

Some of you might know that I’ve been writing a book.

The aim of this is to have all of my lessons combined. It’s ordered by when you should be learning about a concept. It’s easy to not get information overload.

It’s been a lot of fun and a good helper for newsletter content.

Desperate Meals for Calories

I CAN'T HIT MY PROTEINNN

I came up with the desperation lesson when I was writing about nutrition.

I realised a lot of guys just can’t hit their protein. They can’t get calories in. They SUCK so did I.

I realised depending on what you’re trying to get in, there are different problems.

  1. Calories are hard to eat with healthier, more boring ingredients.

  2. Fats are literally just either yummy or ew, I’d never resort to oil in protein shake. Again…

  3. Proteins are all about the cost.

If you sat here and told me you couldn’t endlessly eat Krispy Kreme donuts, you’d be lying.

If you told me you couldn’t get your protein in from perfectly cooked steak daily, you’d be lying.

Sorry vegans. 🦆

I first made this scale as a joke.

I knew these scales existed, but I was exaggerating the polar ends. That doesn’t make these scales any less important.

You should have your own version of each. Minus fat that’s useless on a scale.

Work out which calories you can eat endlessly, workout which proteins you can stomach that are the cheapest.

Then dance around the scale.

When money is tight, have your desperate protein.

When appetite is low, have your desperate calories.

I kid you not, I knew a guy who was veggie and the only protein source he had was pea soup. HE STILL GOT HIS PROTEIN 😭

This isn’t an excuse to always have desperate calories. When your appetite is normal, eat well.

Just remember you have actual goals, there’s a reason you’re eating with desperation.

Your Hypertrophy Hero,
Fletcher

P.S. I’ll probably be coming out with a few more nutrition posts as I’m currently writing a nutrition chapter of my book. If you have any nutrition questions you’d like answered, reply to this email.
