Are You Fat or Jacked?

You are fatter than you thought.

This email is going to be kind of messed up. I’m going to talk about body fat percentage. This is a topic many guys aren’t ready for.

Here’s a bombshell lesson, 15% body fat is not where you start seeing abs.

You start seeing abs at 25% body fat.

I think I just heard your stomach sink all the way to the ground, I feel you. It’s not nice walking around above 25% thinking you’re under 20%. It is something you have to come to terms with though.

I’ve met a lot of guys who refuse to except that, so let me prove it to you.

FFMI tell you what your Fat Free Body Mass Index is. This shows your muscle mass relative to your height. As it’s relative to height, people at 22 FFMI are all at the same place in their journey.

Go plug in what your think your bodyfat percentage is.

A lot of the time when guys tell me their height, weight, and bodyfat % it’s very close to 25 FFMI.

25 is considered the natural limit. If someone has over, or close to 25 they are pretty damn incredible. That being said… these guys can never bench over 100kg 😳

If you can’t bench over 225lbs (100kg) and have an FFMI of 20, you’re putting something in wrong.

I doubt your height, or weight is wrong. What else could it be?

Here’s why I bring this up, you make better gains the leaner you are.

Here’s a few reasons why

  • Your body is more likely to put on muscle than fat

  • You have much more time to be able to put on muscle

  • Your mental health WILL be better and allow you to stay more consistent

  • You’ll feel like you have more energy in your workouts and will move more weight

  • You won’t get tired as easy, your sleep will be better, you’ll respond better to carbs, everything is good.

This is largely why I patched bulking.

Nutrition is easy.

  • First get to ~15% bodyfat.

  1. Eat at maintenance till you get to 10%

  2. Bulk up to 15%

  3. Repeat.

If you follow this throughout your entire training life, you’ll make crazy gains.

You’ll always be in the zone where you best put on muscle, and you’ll look incredible for the majority of the time.

If you have some free time, sketch this on a piece of paper and put it on your bedroom wall.
