It's Men's Health Week

here's a little checklist of things you can do to make sure you're staying on top of your mental health

Sorry ladies, this one’s for the guys.

I think less than 0.5% of my newsletter are actually women, and I’m like 99% sure it’s just my mum.

That being said none of these methods are going to be gender specific anyway so it doesn’t really matter.

Look, I don’t typically do themed posts but I thought I might as well seeing as there’s a lot of overlap with this week and my message, so enjoy.

This will be a little bit of a checklist of activities it’d be good to do every single day this week.

My hope is you’ll find things you enjoy, that work for you, and maybe keep doing them in the long run.

I’ll do my best to join in too 🙄 would be little hypocritical if I didn’t.

Daily Activity

Little Description

Move

Literally move. Do your strength training workout, or some cardio. Make sure you’ve got some activity every day.

Touch grass

Go outside to get some fresh air, maybe even go on a mini walk. Doesn’t have to be anything serious, but no one should be cooped up.

Meditate

This one probably will take some ramping up. I don’t expect anyone to do 10 minute sessions on day one. Do as much as you can handle each day, and aim to do more the next.

Journal/Electronic Free Hour

I’ll let you pick between the two options here. Either take a moment to explore your thoughts, the good, the bad, the ugly, in a journal. Or, spend an hour alone with your thoughts in silence. No music, no phone, nothing to cut out your own voice.

Reach Out to an Old Friend

Go talk to someone you haven’t in a long time. Nothing needs to come out of this, but something might!

I’m starting to realise that the checklist looks very very offensive and stereotypical and insult worthy, but that’s fine. Maybe these things are so commonly used because people aren’t doing them, and know they should be.

Take care of yourself this week, and remember to reach out if you need anything!
