One habit I want you to start
Your Library of Alexandria

A lot of men dream of owning a library.
Shelves covered in works that aren’t theirs.
You could start adding your personal journals to this! Yeah no thanks that’s personal.
The next best thing is adding workout journals.
Okay look you don’t need a library at all but this one habit is something I’m extremely fond of.
You know how important logging your workouts is, that’s a non negotiable. Logging your workout using pen and paper is negotiable, but a pretty neat trick.
Nothing motivates you more than picking up a workout journal from your first year, and comparing exercises to ones you do now.
There’s something different about paper vs your phone. This works even better if you start writing notes in the journal.
It’s not just being able to flip back and compare times, you see thickness/pages of the amount of workouts you’ve done, all the hard work you’ve put into this.
I believe there’s also something psychological going on when you write in these journals, you’re taking much longer to log what you did, and admitting how much effort you put into that set through weight/reps.
Start a workout journal, backtrack if you want, and you’ll have a super free piece of motivation.
If you want to take your gym sessions even more serious, leave music on your phone, and do the rest with pen and paper.
No cognitive load, no distractions. I don’t care enough to do this, I’d rather just stay motivated but some people are more disciplined than me
Get your first workout journal soon and let me know how it feels to start writing this down.
Your Hypertrophy Hero,
Fletcher
P.S. I like to do this with novelty/joke journals. Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Lizzo. They make it even more fun.
