Are Electrolytes Worth It?
time to channel my inner snake diet guy (rare reference)

This won’t be an entire breakdown of electrolytes…
I’ve already laid out electrolyte nutritional guidelines here.
This is about answering questions. What’s my opinion? Who needs these?
It’s taking a look at whether or not it’s going to make or break stuff for you.
Truth is most don’t need them.
Quick disclaimer, this is about buying them and throwing them inside of water, etc, not the presence of electrolytes in your diet which is REQUIRED.
If you’re a normal guy, you don’t sweat too much, you don’t over/underdrink it’s really minimally changing.
There’s way better things to spend money on like buying better equipment, getting better food, or joining my coaching group 🙄
If you are abundant on money, or have those problems I listed just grab some.
The only other time I’d recommend it to someone who isn’t strapped for cash is if you want the best pump of your life (for a one off).
You can read more about putting this together, recipes, formulas, etc. here.
Just do not buy from a company.
If you make it yourself it’s not actually as expensive as you think.
I’ll frame it this way.
I have a lot of supplies to make electrolytes, an abundance of all the ingredients, even a tub of premade stuff from a while back.
I don’t use it.
Haven’t touched it in months.
If this was some revolutionary incredible change, I’d probably be using it more.
Sometimes you have to look at what you’re doing and ask yourselves how a pyramid of importance would look, and if you’re wasting effort somewhere it shouldn’t be.
Always resort back to looking at mechanical tension, and motor unit recruitment.
Your Hypertrophy Hero,
Fletcher
